We are so excited to share photos of Sara's gown and share her gown story. Sara first visited our studio about a year ago, bringing along her mom's gown from 1979.
Sara’s mom purchased the gown at a boutique in downtown Holland 39 years ago. Of course, the local connection is always special to us!
The gown had yellowed a little over the years and had a few small areas of concern, but was in good condition overall. Sara wanted the sleeves removed and it took us a little bit of time and a few fittings to get the sleeves just right. Finally, Sara decided that a simple sleeveless look was best for her. Our seamstress, Sherry also adjusted the skirt so that it was more "flowy" for Sara's outdoor 2018 wedding.

Sara's favorite thing about her dress is that it was the same gown her mom wore when her parents were married. "I was so lucky to wear this beautiful dress!" Sara said. We feel very lucky to have been part of this special story.
After Sara’s wedding, she returned the gown to us for preservation so that the gown can be safely stored for the next generation to wear if desired!
